An article on the local news page of Monday's paper reported on how the Farmers' Market is using new signage to direct customers to the temporary Market at City Centre. Reporter Burden interviewed Market Manager Jim Harris, after coming across a blog on the internet in which the writer said Market vendors feared their regular customers and the annual surge of summer visitors would not be able to find the Market. Harris assured the reporter he was working to make sure customers would be able to do just that. He described a plan to send out people carrying 'sandwichboard' signs to walk the downtown and the waterfront, as well as Market Square. This in addition to media ads, flyers, rack cards, maps and any other opportunity available. One problem expressed in the blog was the limitation imposed by City bylaw on hanging a permanent sign in the former Market Square. The Market has a large banner which may be hung at the old location only on Saturdays during Market hours.
