
The Orillia Farmers' Market is one of the longer-running farmers' markets in the province, with its roots in the 1840's at the waterfront. Between 1872 and 2009, this Market operated on a parcel of land turned over for the use of local farmers, at what turned out through time to be the main downtown intersection and the location of the community's Opera House and Public Library.
As the City Administration prepared to demolish the present library building and replace it with a new one, it offered the market a temporary home at the City Centre, two blocks away. The Market moved there in November 2009, and expects to remain there into 2013.The City Council has established an 'ad hoc' committee to examine options on location of the Market

ALL VENDORS ARE LOCATED OUTSIDE IN THE CITY CENTRE PARKING LOT. COMMENCING SATURDAY MAY 11th. THE NEW SUMMER SEASON BEGINS WITH OVER 60 VENDORS --- SEE YOU AT THE ORILLIA FARMERS' MARKET ---- WHERE SHOPPING IS FUN!!!
PLEASE NOTE: AS OF MAY 1, 2013 TO PARK IN THE BIG PARKING LOT (#6) DIRECTLY SOUTH OF THE ORILLIA FAMRERS' MARKET THERE WILL BE A COST OF $1.00 PER HOUR. THE PARKING LOT ACROSS ANDREW ST. FROM THE MAIN DOORS OF THE CITY CENTRE WILL REMAIN FREE ON SATURDAYS.
The Farmers' Market continues to proudly boast of its range of locally produced foods, handmade crafts from around the county and regularly scheduled special events for the family. Our growers look forward to Saturdays on the Market, where they offer fresh-picked produce in season, and naturally raised meats, with a variety of baked goods and ready-to-eat treats in a sociable atmosphere. Bring your family, meet your friends, get to know the vendors, enjoy the local musicians in the Market Cafe. Treat yourself to one of the tasty lunch menu items.
